The all-female Dalian Acrobatic Troupe of China was established in 1951. Through half a century of performing acts it has formed its own artistic style. In total, the group has performed in more than 60 countries and received more than 240 awards and prizes in domestic and international acrobatic competitions. The Dalian Acrobatic Troupe incorporates modern trends with traditions in its unique form of acrobatics. In 2008, the Troupe adapted The Nutcracker, adding acrobatics, magic, and pantomime to the classic ballet. It garnered widespread attention when it went on a 45-city tour through three European countries in the winter of 2008-2009. The acrobats of Dalian Acrobatic Troupe build enthusiasm for Chinese culture and art among international audiences with their amazing performances and incredible skills. 

Troupe members Huang Manning, Jiang Naiyuan, Li Xin, Sheng Xufang, Wang Ke, Yang Zimo, and Zhao Ming join the Big Apple Circus this season.
