Desire of Flight, the aerial straps duo comprised of Valeriy Sychev and Malvina Abakarova, was created in 2004. Hailing from Russia, the duo performs beautiful acrobatic moves mid-air without the security of a safety net. Valeriy, a former gymnast and member of the Russian national team for three years, has appeared on Broadway, in the Perezvony aerialist group, and as a member of Cirque du Soleil. Malvina, a third-generation circus artist, has performed in the U.S., China, and much of Europe. Together, they have received awards at numerous international festivals for their high-flying act, which combines acrobatics, drama, and dance. Since creating Desire of Flight in 2004, Malvina and Valeriy have fascinated audiences in Italy, England, Norway, France, and Russia, among others.
