Russian aerial straps artist Katerina was born in Houston, Texas in 1990. At the time, her mother and grandmother were touring the United States with the Big Moscow Circus. A fourth-generation circus performer, Ekaterina is the daughter of Malvina Abakarova, featured this season in Desire of Flight. Ekaterina made her performance début in England in 2005. There she filled her mother's role, performing with stepfather Valeriy Sychev in Desire of Flight while Malvina was pregnant. Katerina premiered her solo aerial straps act in 2009 at the Big Moscow Circus. She now studies at a university in Moscow.
