John Lee Beatty
John Lee Beatty is a Tony Award-winning scenic designer whose 39-year New York theatre career was first inspired by a family visit to see Peter Pan at age seven. His recent productions include Into the Woods and As You Like It for the Public Theater’s Shakespeare in the Park summer series. On Broadway, his work includes The Columnist, Other Desert Cities, Venus in Fur, Chicago, Good People, Proof, Doubt, The Color Purple, The Sisters Rosensweig, A Delicate Balance, The Heiress, Ain’t Misbehavin’, Talley’s Folly, Burn This, Fifth of July, Rabbit Hole, Penn & Teller, and 75 more. Mr. Beatty graduated from Brown University and the Yale School of Drama. He is a recipient of an Obie Award, an Outer Critics Award, and a Drama Desk Award. Mr. Beatty is a member of the Theater Hall of Fame.
