Regina Dobrovitskaya

Regina was born in St. Petersburg, Russia. She started training in gymnastics at age 11, and holds a Master's Degree in Sport-Gymnastics. After participating in team-gymnastics competitions within the Soviet Union, she entered Moscow's highest circus training institution, the Circus Studio, in 1985. There she trained with Vladimir Egorov in a combination-act involving aerial casting cradle and Russian barre. She made her debut with this act at Moscow's Bolshoi Circus in 1988. For ten years, she was a member of the Egorov Troupe, performing as a flyer or a solo acrobat on the Russian barre, and toured extensively in Europe and Asia with various units of the Moscow Circus before appearing in three productions of the Big Apple Circus between 1992-96. When the Egorov Troupe dissolved in July 1996, Regina became a permanent member of the Big Apple Circus Company.
